Argoon Shah Mosque
Description
Built by the end of the Mamluk period, this mosque takes its name from Argoon shah its owner. Was it Argoon shah the vice governor or simply another Argoon shah a rich citizen who built it? Its cylindric minaret recalls the ottoman style. Close to the Schools of Sakrakiya and Khatooniya, in Bab Al Raml Area, and close to the Gate of Bab al Raml, this moaque was a Zawia for Argoon Shah. The calligraphy strips surrounding the walls is very refined.
